About

I have always been interested in unique color combinations, patterns, logos, photography, art, and music. At a young age, I re-imagined and re-drew the Volcom logo with different patterns and colors hundreds of times. Even the simple woodblocks of my childhood intrigued me. I experimented with the endless possibilities to make eye-catching structures and color groupings. Those blocks still bounce around in my mind.
Fashion holds a similar interest to me. I have always been curious about what mixture of colors, textures, and unique styles make a look appealing. Not surprisingly, music has also inspired my creativity. Favorites are Foxygen, The Libertines, Neil Young, and Lou Reed because their music is equal parts innovative, memorable, and powerful. Learning from their skills and adding my own, I’ve been inspired and challenged to write music as well as to sing, play acoustic guitar, electric guitar and the piano. Album covers—both studying and designing them—intrigue me too. The cover draws the listener in before the music.
These interests still influence the way I see the world. I look at my environment through a graphic design lens and constantly wonder how can I take what is there and improve it or come up with something new, better? How can I re-order, build, and arrange shapes, color, textures, patterns, photographs, fonts, melodies to produce images people will be drawn to and remember?
These passions led me to a degree graphic design and reinforce my desire to be part of a team dedicated to creating memorable, impactful images and beauty.
